    Overview

Our Blacktown Children’s Centre provides a nurturing and flexible place for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Here, children can explore, play and follow their interests.

Our spacious yard and outdoor area inspire active play and discovery. It helps children stay active, build skills and learn through curiosity and exploration.

The centre has two rooms. One is for infants and toddlers (0-3 years) and accommodates up to 16 children per day. It includes a cot room and breastfeeding facilities. The other is for preschoolers (3-5 years) and accommodates 24 children per day. This room offers a preschool program designed to support early learning.

    About us

Our centre embraces a child-focused approach, giving children the chance to:

    • choose activities and follow their interests at their own pace
    • follow a flexible routine that suits their needs
    • learn in a safe, supportive and engaging environment

Our educators plan learning for each child. This helps create meaningful experiences that support their growth and development.

    Sustainability and the environment

We help children learn to care for the environment through:

    • looking after worm farms, using compost bins and sorting waste into colour-coded bins
    • garden spaces including a bush tucker garden where children grow native plants and vegetables
    • preparing food grown at the centre, helping children connect with nature and sustainability.

Our experienced team supports these activities and helps children learn to care for the environment. Many of our staff have worked here for over 10 years.

We also take part in the program. This supports healthy eating and movement skills like running, jumping and skipping.

    A typical day

A typical day at our centre follows each the child’s needs and preferences, with a mix of play, learning and rest.

Activities, meals and learning times are flexible. This helps children socialise and explore across different age groups.

Nap time is from 11 am to 2pm, giving children time to rest if they need it.
